The Mall of Acadiana Selected for Renovation and Name Change
Major upgrades announced as shopping center becomes “Acadiana Mall” once again

CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., the owner and manager of the The Mall of Acadiana, announced today that it has chosen the mall for a multi-million dollar renovation in 2013. CBL continually reinvests in its portfolio of dominant regional malls, enhancing their appeal to both retailers and shoppers. The renovations are expected to be complete by the end of this year.

“We are really excited about the changes coming to the mall,” said Bryan LeBlanc, the property’s general manager.” “This ‘facelift’ will bring some nice updates to our shopping center and we think our customers will really love these improvements.”

In addition, CBL has elected to change the name of the shopping center back to Acadiana Mall, the property’s original name from 1979 until 2004.

“People have always known us as Acadiana Mall,” LeBlanc said. “And our shoppers still know us best as Acadiana Mall. So with that in mind, we will take what is old and make it new again.”

The renovation at Acadiana Mall will involve modern updates including many contemporary design improvements. These include:

· updated entrances
· fresh paint
· new décor and graphics for the mall's interior
· upgraded and expanded restrooms with new amenities
· a remodeled food court with a completely new design including new tables and chairs
· new outdoor landscaping
· updated soft seating areas in the mall’s common areas

All of the enhancements are expected to be finished in November, with a “Grand Celebration” event being planned for shoppers at that time to mark the completion of the project.

“Our goal is to wrap up the project just in time for the holiday shopping season,” LeBlanc added. “And when we finish, we will have a celebration with special events, prizes and fun activities. It’s going to be an exciting time for Acadiana Mall and all of our shoppers.”
